Amritavarsham 72 Begins with Ganapati Homam and Swamiji’s Satsang

The 72nd birthday celebrations of Satguru Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) commenced at Amritapuri with traditional rituals.

The morning began with the performance of the Ganapati Homam by Amma’s disciples from the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. The ritual dedicated to Lord Ganesha — the remover of obstacles — invoked blessings of harmony, peace, and auspiciousness. The offering marked a sanctified beginning to the celebrations, with devotees joining in prayer for the wellbeing of all.

Devotees were guided into deeper reflection through a satsang by Pujanya Swami Amritaswaroopananda Puri. He emphasized Amma’s message of love, compassion, and service, reminding everyone that the essence of spiritual life lies in selflessness and unity. Swamijis highlighted how Amma’s teachings continue to inspire individuals to embrace values that transcend barriers of caste, creed, and nationality.

Together, the ritual and satsang created an atmosphere of reverence and devotion, preparing devotees for a day of celebration and spiritual upliftment at Amritavarsham 72.
