As part of the Vishwa Seva Dinam celebrations, the Mata Amritanandamayi Math has launched a ₹20 crore medical treatment initiative to provide free specialist care to 1,000 patients at Amrita Hospital, Kochi, and Amrita Hospital, Faridabad. The initiative was formally announced by Honorable Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, presenting certificates to eligible beneficiaries.
A major highlight of the initiative is Kerala’s first uterus transplant surgery, for which a patient has already been selected. The programme also covers 300 open-heart surgeries, 50 liver transplants, 50 kidney transplants, 50 neurosurgeries and 50 knee replacement surgeries. In addition, 500 cancer patients will receive free treatment.
Through this initiative, the Math aims to extend access to advanced medical care to patients requiring specialised treatment, reaffirming its commitment to compassionate service and healthcare for all.
The programme forms part of Vishwa Seva Dinam, observed during Amma’s 73rd birthday celebrations, bringing together initiatives inspired by her message of love, compassion and selfless service.
