The 72nd Birthday Celebrations of Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) began with moments of devotion, unity, and joy at Amritapuri, as devotees gathered from all over the world to take part in Amritavarsham 72.
Amma’s arrival at the venue was welcomed with deep reverence. Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri performed Pada Pooja at Amma’s lotus feet, a sacred ritual symbolizing love, gratitude, and humility. Devotees witnessed this offering with hearts full of devotion, marking the day with blessings and grace.
The celebrations were filled with the joy of music as renowned singers Sharreth and Manjeri offered their soulful performances to Amma. They were joined by the five finalists of Amrita Super Star, they created atmosphere of bliss and celebration. Together, their offerings became an archana of melody at Amma’s feet, uplifting every heart present.
Tribal communities from across India presented Amma with gifts from nature — pepper, honey, rice, spices, coffee beans, and a traditional dress. These offerings symbolized simplicity, devotion, and the deep bond between the communities and Amma. Honorable Governor Rajendra Arlekar honored Amma with a garland during Amritavarsham 72, offering respect and devotion on Amma’s 72nd birthday celebrations.
